Hey the once \'Shelby\' hamfest ( http://www.shelbyhamfest.org/ ) is always a great one Crazy...... it has since moved to Dallas, NC and is handy to the interstate. Some of you flatlanders should team up and head up for a fun Saturday! :)

No offense meant. The Hamvention in Dayton is THE worldwide hamfest. My statement was only to akin it to it being perceived as a mandatory pilgrimage that all radio amateurs must make at one time in their life to avoid being cast into the fiery abyss. Remember, this is the Amateur Activities section, not the debate section. :icon_rolleyes:

*edit* - That combined with the fact that I am older than white dog poo meant that I had better hurry up and go.

Be sure to go to "N4MC\'s Ham Locator" on the left hand margin. Although it\'s pretty cool, it is very inaccurate and seldom maintained. If you put in my neighborhood (29621) You will find a dozen or so entries for KE4ADA. If you look for one of the green balloons, I am hiding behind KF4UIP...... no, my call is no longer KU4MY and no, I have not been an Advanced class for quite some time now.

I will be mobile, headed for Dayton from Upstate SC at about 4:00am Thursday morning, I hope. :)  I will be monitoring 60m Channel 4. Will also be on Channel 4 for the return trip Sunday. Stop by and give me a shout if you like. Is anyone else going to Dayton this year?

Hmmmm, doesn\'t look like the site has been updated since 2006, but if they are very close to you, it wouldn\'t hurt to give them a call to see what they have.

As far as used equipment for sale (back in \'06, I guess), their prices on the two HTs they have / had for sale seems a bit steep to me.

Okie Dokie, first of all, I am on 60m channel 4 at 12:30Z and again around 01:00Z or 03:30Z (7:30am EST and 8:00pm or 10:30pm EST), depending on my work schedule. Often around those times, if I am not on 60m channel 4, I am on 147.420 2m simplex and can be contacted through the KG4BMK-L on Echolink. At other times other than commute times, I am usually monitoring 147.420 and if you connect to Stephen\'s link, it will ID and I will know you are there.

Cool idea! My schedule has been extreme for a few weeks, hopefully it will let up soon though.....

Most of my ops have been mobile for a while and I am often on 60m channel 4 and I try to check in on the SC SSB Net (as a late check in) at 7:45ish on 3.915. :carrot:
