Title: W4U Special Event Station at Ocean Isle, NC
Post by: KI4RVH on February 25, 2008, 10:29:35 PM
There will be a Special Event station at Ocean Isle, NC starting next Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 7.  The crew will be using kite flown antennas and maybe some other type antennas if the wind doesn\'t cooperate.  The event callsign is W4U.  I am planning to be down there as well, health permiting.  I will post some frequencies that we will try to stay near as soon as they are decided on.  They will also be posted under the callsign lookup on QRZ if I forget to post them here.  Hope to work some of ya\'ll while we\'re there.  Any questions feel free to PM or e-mail me.

Thanks Calvin.  Hope we can work you guys.  The tentative freq list is up on Zed lookup now under W4U if anyone would like to take a look.  We have some folks that we will be making contact with that will be spotting us on the QRZ spot  as they work us so look for us on the spot as well.  Please feel free to spot us there are anywhere if you work us.

We had a great trip.  We got the kite up with the antenna and we were wondering how it was working.  Our first call was Switzerland.  We figured it was working.  We made lots of contacts and ate very well.  One of the hams with us is a great cook.  Those that we didn\'t get to work we hope to get you next year.
