I got a new to me radio today. I got a Kenwood TS-430S. Its a 1980s vintage radio. A friend had it for sale for a good price and I just couldn\'t resist. It looks real good and has the SSB filter in it. I got good audio reports on 10 meters. I will get my trans match hooked up to it tomorrow and try it on some other bands.

Nice...
I have the exact same radio right now. My granpda is loaning it to me so I can sell my 706 then get a 746PRO.
I guess we\'ll both be learning about this radio at the same time.

Hey, nice rig. Has the built in tuner?

No tuner. I have to use an external tuner or resonant wire. My TS-2000 has an internal tuner and has me spoiled. I\'ve had a lot of fun with it. I didn\'t really need another radio but it was a good deal and I like Kenwood stuff.

The thing has really good ears for an 80s rig. I really like it. I\'ve had fun with this one. Hope you have fun with your loaner.
