Title: Homebrew mobile antenna for HF
Post by: KC4UMO on June 12, 2008, 09:44:14 PM
Well, I am now mobile on HF. Thanks to an article I read Here:
http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/pdf/0004033.pdf (http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/pdf/0004033.pdf)

The antenna is built like the one mentioned in the article. But this one covers 40 and 80 meters also. I made a few alterations :)

My first contact tonight was a guy in Geogia KC5SCK.
He gave me a good 58 report.

Sorry for the pics but they were took tonight with IR.

The top coil is 31 turns.
The bottom coil is 25 turns.
Spaced 1/8th of an inch apart.

Thanks Chris,
This was my first major antenna build for a mobile setup.
Was very fun.
