Title: RCA Senior Voltohmyst
Post by: WA2MO on June 16, 2018, 10:02:03 PM
Well I'm restoring an RCA Senior Voltohmyst model WV-98C.... I'm in need or need to build the dc/ac ohms probe..  The probe that came with the meter was completely wrecked and had to remove the housing from the insides of the probe and might be able to place the guts of the probe into a different housing or maybe someone has built a few probes for vtvm's and can suggest what to use so I can build one.  Any suggestions are welcome... the restore is coming along quite well... Thanks in advance...

Mark

Hi Mark and Welcome.
If you want an original they show up on ebay at times.  The good thing is it is a simple design probe.  1 meg ohm resistor and a switch. I have built many of these using large sharpie pens.  Remove the end and pull the ink tube out.  I have also used pvc tubing as well.  Sometimes we have to get very creative.
