i want to change the rodger beep on my ranger i want the beep to not be as long of a beep when i unkey i want the beep to be a bit shorter dose any body know what cap it is that i can change.

I would like to know how to do this.i heard this was a good mod to do.if anyone could explain how to do this mod i know you change a diode but i dont know which one it would be.i hope someone could help.

what is a npc mod.i here of techs doing this but not sure how or what is done.they say it makes your radio louder and gives it swing.i thought most galaxy cbs had swing most dead key 1 watt and swing 20 or 30 watts isnt that where the swing comes in when you have a low dead key and swings the rest.anyway if the npc mod helps with the radio sound more powerfull could some one help me with how its done . i would love to crank up my ranger 2980 wx.it dead keys 1 watt and swings 40

thanks radio tech i will check it out and try to build one i dont have alot of education on electronics tring to learn a little on my own with some trial and errors. some things i can do but some things i have a hard time understanding anyway thanks i will check it out and see if i can build it.but dont i also need a scope  . not to be stupid but i dont know how it works morless how to use it.i have never seen any cb test equipment other than what i see on the web i am not sure how any of it works i would love to learn how to use it all but there is no onr around to help me with it in 150miles what little i know i have learned from you and some others that took the time to reply to my post and help me with some problems i have run in to and i really appreciate it i have chated with some really nice people on cbtricks and this site.

i   will have to put the radio aside for now.i only have a watt,swr and modulation meter,volt meter and dummy load which is not much but thats all i can aford for now thanks for the help.

they are scatered out i can replace the channel selector but i dont know anything about what the vco is or how to test and fix it my be you can help me with it if you dont mind

 i have a uniden washington some channels work some dont it was just 23,24and 25 but now more have dropped out.this radio has not been in to no mods have been done at all. i can put the radio on 22 and talk to some of the guys when they go to some of the other channels i cant hear them or talk to them . i was hopeing someone has run into this problem or could help me with what it could be this is very weird .if it had some channel mods i could see this might be a problem but like i said the radio has never been touched.

thanks to you all i got the recieve back i replaced d 150 and the recieve returned.i am still working on the echo board so far i havent been able to get that straight yet.

i checked the voltage going to the echo board and i had my 8 volts i ll try checking some others.i will let you know

i replaced tr 17 and checked the others everything looks ok.the echo stop working to i dont know if this has any efect on thr recieve part

i have a galaxy 77 hml it only pickup strong stations the recieve is very weak.also the echo was working then it just stop.the radio dose recieve but i have to turn the volume all the way up to here if someone close talks i hear them somewhat ok but radios farther away i cant hardly hear them has anybody have an idea what i could check.

hey thanks radio tech glad to have a little support.i am just an amateur i have learned a fair amount about cbs but no where close to being a tech.anyway i apperciate the welcome from everyone. Thanks  Smoke Blower
