Question and Answers / President radio and speaker I bought.
« on: September 08, 2017, 10:14:33 AM »
I just bought a old non working President Washington and speaker that I have never seen this speaker before.  had to buy this just for the speaker. I have 3 of the radios I rebuilt a couple years ago so will have 4 after this one is repaired. has any one ever seen this speaker? I know I have never seen this one before. very interesting

radio Tech is good at repairing these scopes and other test equipment. a couple years ago my BK 2040 was acting up and just looked at one he had repaired and I was able to find a bad cap that was causing a problem and a few dirty contacts.

I hope you get every thing back in order. hate to hear you had wind damage. I guess it is better than flood damage.

Yes. I can help you with that. Just cannot at the moment due to flooding at my residence. Will be a week before I can get back on here.

I sure hope you have flood insurance. I assume you have not been able to get back to you home as of yet. sure hope you do not have a lot of damage.

i like the way you are doing this. some info you have already posted I had forgot about. looking good.just like the schematics you did last year with marking them on how the circuit routes. I still use them all the time. will be for another radio but if I am not sure how the signal goes I will look at them to get me in line.

you may have some 10 volt caps going down on you. right by the relay is a diode and cap 10 volt I believe. they can go bad and kill rx and tx. at least they did on 2 of my old washingtons I refurbed a couple years ago. believe the diode was a zenor  if memory serves me right. I think they both are in the same circuit together.

at least I got signed up in case the other goes down. since you have experiance with a forum about like cbtricks  it would be nice if Bennie would have you help take care of it. plus be nice if he would let you move all the other stuff here and have a mirror of cbtricks .bama site did that a few years ago and if one site was down you could go to the mirror site for manuals.

hey Laz, you posted while I was typing. this is just about the same as cbtricks.
