Contest / So2r
« on: February 20, 2008, 05:21:43 PM »
Does anyone run So2r? (single op, two radio)

Just curious, I heard it can greatly increase your contest score. I\'m sure it does take a lot of getting used to though.

Opinions on the subject?

When was the last time you got a SWL card?(if at all)

My first one came in the mail a few days ago from VP5DX1A. It was interesting because I never thought I\'d get one!

I know this is kind of out of place. The ARRL DX contest was just on this weekend and i just worked some new ones. I was pretty happy with Japan, I know it\'s common but it was a first time JA opening for me.

Who worked what?

Questions and Answers / CW Tone
« on: February 18, 2008, 04:56:19 PM »
Out of curiosity, what tone do you keep your CW receive on.

300hz, 400hz...800hz. I myself stick to the low end, about 400-500hz.

I have a TH-2 10-20 meter beam I will be putting up this summer.

I should probably start looking for some sort of mast or tower to put it on! :th_Smile-KnockKnock

Need help practicing to do better in all those CW contests? Try Morse Runner, the best contest simulation I\'ve ever found. Do a google search for it and something should come up where you can download it for free.

How many of you regularly use repeaters?

I used to have a 2 meter radio on most of the time but I disconnected that long ago to make room for HF

It is a very sad occurrence.

Rod Dinkins, AC6V has recently passed away.

I have had email exchanges with Rod, he was a great guy. I also read some of his books on DXing an Contesting subjects. I hope he\'s in heaven so that I can see him again.

He is survived by his XYL
