I have a very limited knowledge of fixing radios. However if I can help I am more than happy to, only thing I would charge for would be parts.

I wished I had an answer. It has never logged me out at anytime. I am always getting logged out at the Zed but not here.
I will check your settings and see if I notice anything different.

Ah its no big deal, if I check the remember me box it works fine.
Well so long as I dont clear my personal data, lol.
Unless of course you are addressing the original poster who seems to be having the same problem, that is. But I think the remember me box will work for him as well, but dont quote me, lol.

Equipment reviews / Ic 756pro3
« on: July 23, 2008, 07:18:20 AM »
I have had the pro3 for around a month now and I love it!
I bought the pro3 to use as my main base rig and moved the 7000 to backup, as well as my primary vhf/uhf rig. The pro3 has everything I love about the 7000 plus more, sweet.:arf2:  Unlike the 7000 the scope on the pro3 is real time, and makes no funny noises. My two favorite features about the pro3 are the muti function meter and the mini scope. Adjustable eq and transmit band pass are awesome, as is the dsp. Oh and Im new to the cw seen but let me tell you it sounds even sweeter on this rig. You also have a multitude of dispaly settings to choose from to stop the boredom(I like the one that makes the scope look like fire:arf2: ). Id tell you more but Im still learning.

So far I have no complaints what so ever!!
But I will still only give it a 4.9 out of 5 and thats as high as I will go unless its a voting system that gives me no other option.

Equipment reviews / Ic 7000
« on: July 23, 2008, 07:06:50 AM »
Well I have had the 7000 for around 2 1/2 years now and so far so good.
I really enjoy the adjustable filter widths and the on board EQ(if thats what you would call it). It has a remarkable receiver with a very low noise floor. I always get great audio reports even with the stock hand mic. The menu system is much more simplistic in design than that of the 706. If you match it up with the LDG AT-7000 it is truly a splendid jewel.

Now let us review the flaws, and they are as follows.
It tends to get a little hot, no big deal, its not meltdown hot.
I dont like the fact that the swr meter does not function on vhf/uhf.
Last but not least, the rig will not achieve full output capability with the compressor turned off.

In my opinion the pros out weigh the cons by far. It is a really nice rig in a good price range. I also feel that it puts it competition to shame as well as a few base radios. However that is just my opinion so take it or leave it as they say.

Would I buy it all over again? In a new york minute. Actually I going to buy one to put in the car.

I would rate it a 4.8 out of 5! And in my book there are no perfect radios.:arf2:

You are clicking the remember me box right?
Also to stay logged in you must browes using cookies.

I do now but why should that matter I have not left the forum?
Most forums only log you out after you leave them not in between every post.
No biggie though its easy enough to check the remember me box.

Having trouble staying logged in.  While posting I can preview it logs me off. If I hit preview I can\'t go back to my post page. If I visit a link it logs me off.

Any help would be appreciated.

For some reason I have to log after ever post.
I dont know why this happens but it does, not all of the time, it is a selective problem.

Wow, what a mean lady! If my girlfriend were like that I would have left her a long time ago. I do love ham radio, but I love my girlfriend more. I dont think that the guy she was married to knew how to manage his priorities so it led to his wife drawing this conclusion about all hams. Maybe they were just not meant to be.

I don\'t know much about aquariums.  I like to watch the fish, they\'re a lot of fun.  We took our niece to the NC Aquarium when we were down at the beach last year.  I enjoyed it a lot.  There are some strange looking creatures in the ocean.  Thanks for teaching me a new word Travis.  I had no idea what an ichthyologist was.  I would have guessed it was first kin to a proctologist.

PS- Buddy can I go fishing in your pond?

I love studying fish, dont really know why, but I always have.
As for learning a new word, thats always good.
Aquariums are fun, you should set one up if you dont already have one.

Have had aquariums in the past and even dabbled in a salt water effort for almost two years....... never again! I really wouldn\'t mind having another oscar or two, mainly because they are more like having a pet dog, cat or snake, but as far as the rest go, I already have too many hobbies that are money pits. :186:

Saltwater does not have to be expensive, just get a small tank with a few fish.
Clown fish and damsels are extremely cheap and very hard to kill, lol.
I am just fascinated by having an entire ecosystem at my disposal to study.
Sometimes I get lost in my imagination while staring into my fish tank.
I have depression issues and building new habitats allows me to forget about that depression, its kind of like my medicine.

Ok well if not do any of you enjoy setting up fish tanks or any other aquatic setups. I personally love to study fish and setup many habitats including, freshwater tanks, freshwater ponds, and saltwater tanks. By the time I was 15 I had a $5,000 125 gallon saltwater habitat setup in my bedroom as well as a 125 gallon reef tank in the family room. My father and I also dug a 50 foot by 50 foot 15 foot deep koi pond in the back yard.

It all started when I was about 7 years old and I got a 10g fish tank for my birthday. Ever since then I have been hooked. LOL, I even received a fine when I was 15 for ordering an illegal amazonian cat fish over the internet. Granted I didnt know it was an endangered species, so I got off cheap. I remember it clearly being a 500$ fine, trust me it could have been much worse.

I have owned a variety of fresh and saltwater fish, but one of the most memorable was the alligator gar, man was it mean and did it ever grow fast.
However my most memorable setup was my 125g saltwater tank, which consisted of 2 panther grouper, a porcupine puffer, a few types of wrass, a snowflake eel, and a volitian lion fish. Unfortunately my fish were not properly taken care of by my parents when I went to school my first semester and I came home to an empty tank.

As of right now my two 125 gallon tanks consist of bacteria, lol, however now that I commute to school I will rebuild my former setup. The only set up I have as of right now is a 35g hex with a few percula and an anemone, which is fascinating. It is just cool to watch the symbiotic relationship of the two.

For those of you who have never owned a saltwater setup you should try it because it is fun, but can be stressful. However be careful as many saltwater fish are lethal(poisonous). Oh ya and it can get pricey!!

Ok as I stated i understand that the thread started out as a joke, as to why it was put in the debate forum I shall never grasp. However I dont see why it should be dropped as it has only lead to debate and nothing extreme, which is the point of this forum, right? If thats what ya\'ll want I will walk away from the thread as well, I dont want to step on any toes.
Although you have to understand that I will disagree on a lot of controversial topics brought up in not only this forum but all forums. I just have my own way of thinking its nothing personal.

I respect people for who they are not what they practice, unless they intentional cause harm to others.

Anyway I bid you all a good night and chat at ya later.
