I like WWV, I don\'t think that it should be changed at all. It\'s nice and efficient the way it is.

I have a clock that tunes into WWV and automatically makes sure that it is displaying the correct time every 5 minutes, cool huh.

Yes, that is a good point, most things said on the zed never actually happen.

I saw that link.  Its just a spoof someone did.  I remember when I was abouy 13 I\'d tune in to WWV on my shortwave receiver and try to start my watch tight at the minute so I\'d be perfectly in sync with WWV.  We didn\'t ahve a lot to do out in the country.

I think your clock actually receives WWVB (WWV Binary) which outputs the time in Binary Coded Decimal (BCD).  Also, it synchronizes only once per day, if that much.  The format of the WWVB signal makes syncing every 5 minutes impractical.

Even on commercial equipment where I set the time sync via NTP, we only sync once per day or so.

Who knows...

It says it synces up every 5 minutes, there is an antenna display that shows up when syncing. It looks like it synces every 5 minutes.

It could be a fake though, scams these days :arf2:

Oh really?  That\'s new.

With WWVB it\'s impractical to sync up every 5 minutes.

Besides, it\'s not necessary.
